Walnut tart
Ingredients
110g butter
140g plain flour
30g icing sugar
1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
1 egg yolk
Put all pastry ingredients (except egg yolk) in food processor and mix. Add egg yolk and mix again until pastry forms a ball. Wrap and refrigerate for 30 mins then roll out and line a 20cm tin with a removable base. Prick pastry all over and line with baking paper and beans to cook at 180 until golden. I suggest removing the paper and beans for last 10 mins to ensure pastry is crisp.
20g butter
200g golden syrup
100g walnut halves or pieces
pinch mixed spice
100g dried mixed peel/fruit
4 soft amaretti biscuits, crumbled. (you could also use crumbled biscotti or fresh white breadcrumbs)
1 egg, beaten
Melt butter and syrup in a pan and add all other ingredients. Pour into pastry case and cook for 15 mins at 180.
