I started this blog for my daughters when they left home. I wanted to share a few easy, cheap and favourite recipes with them. Now ten years later, it's just where I put my favourite recipes.

Cheesy walnut bites

A great dough to have in the fridge or freezer for a "here's some I made earlier" moment!!

Ingredients

75g butter, sliced
110g plain flour
2 tbsp walnuts, finely chopped
110g strong cheddar, grated
1 tbsp wholegrain mustard
2 tbsp milk (for brushing dough)
2 tbsp sesame seeds (to coat)

And here's what you do:

Rub butter into flour
Add walnuts and cheese
Stir in mustard and press dough together. If necessary, add a little water to form dough into a long sausage-shaped roll.
Wrap roll in cling film and store in fridge for up to 2 days before cooking.
Or freeze, until needed.
Before baking, brush roll with milk and roll in sesame seeds till coated.
Slice rounds into 1cm thick slices and bake on greased baking sheets at 180 degrees for 20 mins, or until golden.
